Leonora Western Australia

The Challenge
Operating out in the remote Northern Goldfields region of Leonora demands high-production equipment, strict site compliance, and complete operational self-sufficiency. The complex geology across these historic gold and base-metal belts features deeply weathered saprolite profiles, hard greenstone formations, and highly challenging, hyper-saline underground water tables that test both rig performance and sample recovery integrity.
Our Approach
B&T Drilling mobilised a fully mine-spec exploration rig alongside an auxiliary support fleet—including high-pressure booster compressors and specialised water carts—directly to the remote tenement lease. Our highly ticketed crew operated under our fully audited Safety Management System (SMS), executing closed-system dual-wall drilling to ensure high daily meter counts while protecting the drill string against heavy groundwater inflows.
The Result:
The team successfully completed the campaign on schedule, maintaining elite penetration rates and exceptional sample recovery from target depths. By using onboard cyclonic splitting and strict dust-suppression controls, we delivered pristine, uncontaminated geological samples straight to the client’s exploration team for rapid laboratory assaying—advancing their project timeline without a single hour of lost-time injury (LTI).
