Perth Hills

B&T Drilling provides hard-rock water bore drilling for rural properties, farms, commercial sites and larger residential blocks of one acre or more throughout the Perth Hills and surrounding areas.

We service properties across Mundaring, Kalamunda, Gidgegannup, Rollystone, Pickering Brook and nearby semi-rural suburbs. We combine practical drilling experience, available groundwater information and careful site assessment to help identify a suitable drilling location.

Hard-Rock Water Bores and Bore Siting in the Perth Hills

Drilling Through Perth Hills Geology

Water bore drilling in areas such as Mundaring, Kalamunda, Gidgegannup and Roleystone is very different from drilling through the sandy soils found across much of the Perth coastal plain.

The region commonly contains granite, weathered rock and fractured geological formations. Groundwater may be present within fractures or weathered zones, but conditions can vary considerably between neighbouring properties.

Before drilling begins, we consider the available groundwater information, nearby bore records, surrounding geology, property access and the intended use of the water.

Groundwater cannot be confirmed until drilling takes place, and its depth, flow rate and quality cannot be guaranteed in advance.

Local Experience and Site Assessment

B&T Drilling has a long history of drilling across Western Australia, including Mundaring, Kalamunda, Gidgegannup, Lesmerdie, Roleystone and other areas throughout the Perth Hills.

When assessing a property, we may review nearby bore information, regional geological data and our own previous drilling experience. Where requested, traditional water divining may also form part of the on-site bore-siting process.

This information can help guide the selection of a practical drilling location, but no assessment method can remove the uncertainty associated with hard-rock groundwater.

We also consider access for the drilling rig and support vehicles, including gates, slopes, overhead services, underground infrastructure, buildings, septic systems and the space required to operate safely.

Clear Advice for Perth Hills Property Owners

A water bore can be a significant investment, particularly where deeper drilling through hard rock may be required.

Before mobilising to properties in Mundaring, Kalamunda, Gidgegannup, Roleystone, Lesmurdie or surrounding areas, we explain the drilling process, pricing structure, likely local conditions and the factors that may affect the final depth and cost.

During drilling, we monitor the geological formations and groundwater inflows encountered. Where practical, we keep the property owner informed and discuss whether drilling should continue if conditions differ from the initial expectations.

Our focus is on providing clear advice, realistic expectations and professional hard-rock drilling services for property owners throughout the Perth Hills and surrounding suburbs.

EXPLORE OUR SERVICES

Water bore drilling and selected exploration services across Western Australia

B&T Drilling provides hard rock water bore drilling, bore cleanouts and selected Reverse Circulation exploration drilling services across Western Australia.

Our main focus is water bore drilling for rural properties, farms, commercial sites and larger residential blocks of one acre or more. We also support selected exploration projects where the proposed work suits our equipment and capabilities.

Each project is planned around the site conditions, access requirements and intended outcome. Our crews place a strong emphasis on safety, reliable equipment, clear communication and straightforward pricing before work begins.

Hard-Rock Water Bore Drilling

Water bore drilling for rural properties, farms, commercial sites and larger residential blocks throughout the Perth Hills and regional Western Australia.

Our equipment is configured for drilling through granite and other hard-rock formations. Before drilling begins, we review the available groundwater information, nearby bore records, site access and local geological conditions to help plan the work.

Groundwater depth, flow rate and quality cannot be guaranteed before drilling.

Bore Cleanouts and Maintenance

Cleaning and redevelopment services for bores affected by reduced flow, sediment, iron-related buildup or mineral deposits.

Depending on the bore’s construction and condition, the work may include airlifting, air lancing, flushing or bore-specific chemical treatment.

Cleaning may improve bore performance in suitable circumstances, but not every bore can be fully restored. B&T Drilling does not carry out structural column repairs or underground casing realignment.

Reverse Circulation Exploration Drilling

Selected RC exploration drilling services for mineral exploration programs across Western Australia.

Our Thor RC 5000 is configured primarily for hard-rock water bore drilling while retaining the capability to undertake RC drilling when required.

Before accepting an exploration project, we review the expected geology, target depths, access conditions, sampling requirements and site standards to confirm that the work is suitable for our equipment and crew.

Groundwater Assessment and Bore Siting

We combine available groundwater records, nearby bore information, local drilling experience and, where requested, traditional water divining to help identify a practical drilling location.

While no method can guarantee groundwater, its depth, flow rate or quality, this assessment supports a more informed decision before drilling begins.

Essential Questions Answered

B&T Drilling is based in Bullsbrook and regularly services the Perth Hills, Chittering Valley and surrounding regional areas, including locations north towards Moora, east towards Merredin and south towards Arthur River.

For selected exploration and larger drilling projects, we can also mobilise to remote locations across the Murchison, Pilbara and Goldfields.

Mobilisation depends on the project scope, distance, access conditions and equipment requirements. Contact our team to discuss projects outside our usual service area.

Water divining, or dowsing, is a traditional method that may be used as part of the bore-siting process, particularly in hard-rock areas such as the Perth Hills.

We do not rely on divining alone. We also consider available groundwater records, nearby bore information, regional geology, surrounding landforms and our own drilling experience.

This information helps us identify a practical drilling location. However, no method can guarantee that groundwater will be found or accurately predict its depth, flow rate or quality before drilling begins.

Yes. Our Thor RC 5000 has been converted and configured primarily for hard-rock water bore drilling while retaining the capability to undertake selected Reverse Circulation exploration programs when required.

RC drilling uses compressed air, pneumatic hammer equipment and dual-wall drill rods to return rock-chip samples through the inner tube of the drill string.

Before accepting a project, we review the expected geology, proposed depths, access conditions, sampling requirements and site standards to confirm that the work is suitable for our equipment and capabilities.

Reduced flow, sand, sediment or discoloured water may be caused by silt accumulation, iron or mineral buildup, pump-related issues or deterioration within the bore.

Where suitable, we may use airlifting, air lancing, flushing or bore-specific chemical treatment to clean and redevelop the bore.

Cleaning may improve performance in some cases, but not every bore can be restored. The likely outcome depends on the bore’s age, construction, condition and the cause of the problem.

We assess the available information and explain the recommended approach, limitations and pricing before work begins. B&T Drilling does not carry out structural column repairs or underground casing realignment.

Safety requirements vary between larger residential blocks, rural properties, commercial sites and mineral exploration projects.

Before drilling begins, we assess site access, operating space, ground conditions, overhead and underground services and other potential hazards.

Our drilling and support equipment is regularly inspected and maintained, and our crews follow the procedures relevant to the work being completed.

For exploration projects, we review the client’s site induction, equipment, environmental and safety requirements before mobilisation to confirm that the proposed setup is appropriate for the program.
